Linebarger Scholarship Fund
The Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson scholarship provides one-year scholarships for up to $1,000 to five students with average academic achievement and financial need working towards a community college degree, or trade school certification.
Eligibility & Selection Criteria:
- Only students classified as a high school graduate working towards community college degree, or trade school certification are eligible to apply.
- Students must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA and plan to attend a verifiable Texas community college, certification program or entry into Texas trade school.
- Selection is based on average academic achievement, school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential and average financial need.
- Applicants must be of African American descent and graduate a high school from a regional location of TCBSBM member district.
Applicants are required to complete an essay and are encouraged to submit an explanation of financial need. Applicants must also submit at least one letter of recommendation. Letter of recommendation may not come from family members or friends but must be written by teachers, employers, or other professional individuals.
In addition to the requirements listed above, applicants will be required to complete an essay focused on why they would deserve to be a recipient of this scholarship.
Award: Up to $1,000 total per student
