The mission of the Texas Caucus of Black School Board Members (TCBSBM) is to bring awareness, educate, and empower all school board members – particularly members of color to identify, advocate, and address systemic matters encountered by African American students within the educational system.

TCBSBM Strategic Priorities

TCBSBM data analysis, initiatives and meetings have focused on the resolution of the achievement gap. This long-term effort has resulted in documentation that identifies the key data elements and strategies needed to address the gap for African American students.

TCBSBM is the premier professional society for school board members, educators, administrators and allies to support and advocate for African-American students and staff. 

TCBSBM is a non- profit 501 (C)(3) organization that speaks on behalf of quality education for all children in the state of Texas. We offer a variety of opportunities and levels for companies, corporations and organizations to support the Caucus through financial contributions.

TCBSBM Member Districts
We have members in over 32 Districts from Aldine ISD to Waco ISD, we are active in service. The following districts are eligible for Student Scholarships, Educator/Administrator Awards and reduced TCBSBM Summit Registration:

We empower our members and the communities by speaking on behalf of quality education for all children in the state of Texas

We educate by informing the public on policies and issues that impact them, helping to strengthen education for all students.

We inspire youth, educators and board members via collaboration and steadfast support of quality education for all across the state of Texas
