Summer Meeting & Membership Drive
The Texas Caucus of Black School Board Members (TCBSBM) hosts its annual Summer Meeting during the TASB Summer Leadership Institute to connect with members, recruit new ones, and share updates on its initiatives. This event offers school board members opportunities to engage in discussions on educational equity, network with peers, and access professional development focused on culturally responsive governance. Members gain valuable resources to address systemic challenges and advocate for equitable policies. Joining TCBSBM empowers leaders to inspire change and support student success across Texas. Together, we build brighter futures for all students.

Annual Business Membership Meeting
The Texas Caucus of Black School Board Members (TCBSBM) hosts its Annual Membership Meeting during the TASA/TASB Conference to conduct official business and engage members. This essential meeting includes the review and approval of the budget, updates on officers’ activities, a TASB Executive Director Update, and the election of new officers. Members also receive updates on the organization’s progress and priorities, fostering collaboration and transparency. The meeting underscores TCBSBM’s commitment to empowering school board leaders, promoting educational equity, and advancing initiatives that positively impact students and communities across Texas. Next year’s conference will be Sept. 12-14, 2025 in Houston, TX at the George R. Brown Convention Center. More information on official lodging for txEDCON25 will be available in the Spring of 2025.

TCBSBM Casino Night
TCBSBM Casino Night celebrates the election of new and incoming officers with an evening of networking, entertainment, and purpose. Open to Texas school board members, superintendents, and administrators, the event extends a “network of kindness” while supporting TCBSBM’s Literacy Initiative. Featuring a red carpet, live music, prize giveaways, and vendor-sponsored tables, the fundraiser aligns with TCBSBM’s strategic priority of advancing reading strategies to promote literacy and student success. Join us for a night of fun and collaboration as we work toward educational equity and excellence across Texas.
TCBSBM Regional Workshop
The TCBSBM Regional Workshop showcases the leadership talents of Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs) across Texas’ 10 regions. Guided by the TCBSBM bylaws, RVPs are pivotal in recruiting school board members and associates who align with the organization’s mission and vision. These workshops address region-specific needs, foster membership growth, and build alliances with education stakeholders. RVPs also form regional committees, appoint members to the TCBSBM scholarship committee, and host events celebrating scholarship recipients. Through these efforts, TCBSBM strengthens its statewide network, empowering communities and advancing educational excellence.
