Linebarger Scholarship Fund

The TCBSBM / TASB Scholarship is funded by both Texas Caucus of Black School Board Members and Texas Association of School Board and Provides a one-year scholarship for up to $3,000 to ten (10) students with average academic achievement and financial need working towards a first-year college degree. Some fields of consideration may include Business, Finance Management, Coding, Education, Technology, Engineering, or Marketing, Law or related fields.

Eligibility & Selection Criteria:

Only students classified as a high school graduate working towards community college degree, or trade school certification are eligible to apply
Students must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA and plan to attend a verifiable Texas community college, certification program or entry into Texas trade school.
Selection is based on average academic achievement, school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential and average financial need.
Applications must be of African American descent and graduate a high school from a regional location of TCBSBM member districts.

Requirements

Applicants are required to complete an essay and encouraged to submit an explanation of financial need. Applicants must also submit at least one letter of recommendation. Letter of recommendation may not come from family members or friends, but must be written by teachers, employers or other professional individuals.
